20in Rocking Fountain

  • Manufactured to the Highest Quality Available.
  • Design is stylish and innovative. Satisfaction Ensured.
  • Great Gift Idea.

The rocking fountain, or "shishiodoshi" was originally designed to scare away deer and wild boar. The spout fills with water and rocks forward to empty, then rocks back to make a gentle clacking sound. This combination of movement along with the sound of water and the clacking bamboo make it a captivating water feature. Our rocking fountains are popular in restaurants, botanical gardens, homes, shopping centers, and fine gardens throughout the world. The rocking fountain is easy to install because it's designed as a single unit, mounted to a realistic, rock-like base. Simply place the fountain next to a pond or a shallow container, put the pump in the water and enjoy. Pump & Tubing Included

Looks good, simply assembly. BUT…plastic stand (hidden by rocks in the picture) gives an obviously plastic sound when the rocker strikes the anvil. The anvil was modified with a piece of foam and now produces a more contemplative noise. The pump IS wimpy. I replaced it. Unless one has easy access to bamboo, the cost is still less than trying to order lumber lengths to make your own.

I’m very happy with this fountain. I don’t run it 24/7, but I do run it quite a lot and have been all summer. I’m pleased with it.

This fountain is pretty and seems to be well constructed. The instructions enclosed are adequate and the tips are helpful. The sound, however, is lacking. One would expect this fountain to make a pleasant, hollow sound (not unlike the fountain depicted in Kill Bill Volume I). The sound it actually makes is more of a hard clacking. Adding a counter weight to the front and changing the surface the bamboo lands on has helped somewhat, but for 75$ I expected a nice sound. Moreover, there is very little “water” sound. When the vessel empties out it’s a minimal sound and the pump included is not powerful enough to allow you to set the fountain very high. Also, the pump must be set on the lowest setting unless you want the water to spill out around the edges of the bamboo vessel. This results in a longer time between ‘dumps’ and less frequent sound. My advice is to go with something cheaper. And preferably something you can try before you buy.
