Does anyone know how to clean a home water fountain?
Question by just jude: Does anyone know how to clean a home water fountain?
I have a little water fountain and it runs slow and the things stop turning. There is a high salt/mineral content in our water and I think the little tubes are clogged some. What about vinegar, like cleaning a coffee pot out? Thanks.

Try the vinegar, with very warm water, or you could try a calcium, lime, and rust remover.

Either cleaner mentioned should work fine; it’s likely just hard water scale, easy to remove. From now on, though, use distilled water and that won’t happen.

There are specific products for helping with your problem. we recommend a product called Protec, it will remove calcium from regular tap water and very inexpensive when compared to buying distilled water each time. Also, don’t use vinegar, you want your fountain smelling normal. the protec solution is 100% safe for pets and animals so you don’t need to worry about that.
