Fountain for above ground intex pool?
Question by Katie: Fountain for above ground intex pool?
I am trying to find a fountain that will work on an intex 18x48 softside pool. The pump is 1500 gallons per hour, 1/3hp. I want to attach it to the water return to cool down the water. Pool supply stores have told me the fountain's they sell will not work. Does anyone know of a fountain I can use?
If there are none, how can I cool down the water (besides using ice)? I live in Oklahoma, and it's been over 100 degrees, and the water is like taking a warm bath!!

Hey man, I'm in the same boat as you, I'd like to know as well. I'm going to try my local pool store Wednesday. If the fountain they have works it, I'll let you know what brand and everything.

I made my own out of the screen that screws on the outlet ,a 3 inch to 1 !/2 inch pvc adapter 1, 6 inch piece of 1 1/2 pvc ,1 pvc 45 degree elbow, 1, 12 inch of 1 , 1/2 inch pvc pipe and 1 cap. I screwed the screen into the adapter with self tapping aluminum screws , screwed the screen and adapter on all the way and marked it so when I put the other pieces togrther it would stick up out of the pool then drilled 1, 3/16 hole in the middle of the cap and 8 smaller holes at an angle around the outter edge of the cap, screwed it on and it looks and works great.
