is there a pond fountain that works without electricity other than a solar fountain?

I built a pond and didn't want to run power to it. I bought a solar fountain but it's not getting enough light and when it does, the fountain's not that strong.

  1. I did the same thing…and didn’t want to bury a power line so I just ran an outdoor extension cord to it and covered it with the mulch in the garden.

  2. Windmill power. You can buy or build a small windmill … doesn’t have to be gigantic. the stem can be attached to a shaft of a small pump. When the wind blows .. the paddles will turn and there by turn the shaft in the pump. There you have a turn of the century pumping system.

  3. I guess you’ll need additional solar collector area, because without using the AC power line, there aren’t too many practical alternatives.

If you were in windy area, you might be able to put up a wind turbine and charge batteries, or if there was a stream on your property, you could setup a small hydropower generator.

Or, if you really want to go crazy and get creative, you could set up a solar steam generator and power a steam engine to drive the pump.

  4. You need a pump, with a separate solar collector that you can place in a sunnier location. They make different size pumps, and collectors.

  5. None that will really give you what you want, you could try adding a battery to be charged while the sun is out, but I doubt that will do what you want. You might add more solar panels.
