Floating Solar Accent Lights - White
- Elegantly Illuminates Ponds, Fountains or Koi Ponds
- Lights charge by day and illuminate at night
- Three elegant colors to choose from
- Totally waterproof with absolutely no shock risk
During the day, the solar panels will convert sunlight into electricity and recharge the included rechargeable battery. In the evening, the Floating Solar Accent Lights will turn on automatically. Super-bright LED bulbs provide up to eight hours of light when batteries are fully charged (the hours of light per charge depends on your geographical location, weather conditions and seasonal lighting availability). In addition, a waterproof and impact-resistant translucent polycarbonate light housing shines with an incredible prismatic light effect. Although the Ni-Cd rechargeable battery included with every unit is designed to provide years of reliable use, most rechargeable batteries do begin to deplete after several years. When this happens, the battery can be easily replaced with newer models available anywhere batteries are sold.

Question by sh_va: Debating between a swimming pool or fountain with a pond in backyard?
We bought this two-story house last year. Its a corner lot, with a pretty decent-sized backyard. I want a water-feature in the backyard. We had decided on getting a fountain/waterfall (something like a couple of staggered rocks, water flowing through the rocks and leading into a small koi-fish pond). Now we are debating if we should get a swimming pool, with a "waterfall" into the pool. what do you suggest? teh backyard will be teh biggest expenditure we will make and I want it to be "a paradise"... any ideas on how much it may cost (based on personal experience) for the up-keep of the pool? maintainenec, just an approx amount will be fine. I did some reaserach and seems like a decent sized pool may cost about K (without a jacuzzi)...
any hints and tips are appreciated.
If anyone has worked on a DIY fountain, and if yuo have any pictures, please let me know... thanks!

There are many ways to incorporate a fountain, or water feature right into the swimming pool. Maybe you could do a fountain in a shallow end or even a build out on the side where the fountain could run without the waterfall effect. Or you could do a Grotto waterfall, with a seat under it in the deep end of the pool. Your imagination is all it takes. Contact a local pool company with qualified designers and just let them know what you are looking for. Sometimes, it may take a design or two, to get it just right. They would have to give you a price, because I am here in Florida, and do not know where you live.
