Q&A: Why does everyone call the fountains at Kaufmann Stadium waterfalls???
Question by ajn4664_ksu: Why does everyone call the fountains at Kaufmann Stadium waterfalls???
Seriously people....waterfalls fall, fountains shoot water into the air!!! Why is that no one seems to be able to get this straight????
Yes, I realize this is probably a stupid question...but it bugs me.
Dude...I know its awesome. I live there, I've been to at least 100 games there. There's a reason its the only one from that era still around...

There are waterfalls out there where the fountains are. If its someone who has only seen the stadium on tv, they may not have seen the fountains go off. Its not like a roaring waterfall or anything, it’s just a gentle setup to circulate the water. Its set up that way so that the water doesn’t stand in a pool and get stagnant. You get a good picture of it when they show the fountains from the outfield camera on TV.
GO ROYALS!!!

Maybe they have better things to worry about, like why the team that calls Kaufman Stadium home can’t play their way out of a wet paper bag.
Have a nice day. . . .

Waterfalls or fountains, they still are more of a draw than what’s happening on the field for the last 20 years

I dunno, I’ve never heard anybody call them waterfalls.
That is one stadium I desparately want to see! I hope the auditorium they plan on building beyond centerfield doesn’t screw with them.
Kaufmann Stadium is the greatest stadium outside Wrigley.
