It is stated that a conscious and concentrated effort from the part of the people can result in pulling down the level of carbon emissions to approximately 1.2 billion tons annually by the year 2030. This call for the introduction of energy efficiency measures and a switch to more renewable energy technologies to carry our world towards a cleaner and greener future. One promoter, which in its own way is attempting to make a small contribution to this event, is the solar fountain. It makes use of the solar energy to power itself at a cost lower than what it would cost to power using electricity. With the sun shining in plenty in summer, it does not cost anything other than the initial cost for investment.
