What can I use to get rid of the smell on an indoor waterfall fountain?

Question by Chris K: What can I use to get rid of the smell on an indoor waterfall fountain?
I have an indoor water fountain that stands about 3.5 feet tall and recently every time I turn it on it smells like rotten eggs. I tried replacing the water and cleaning the inside of it to get rid of mildew, but it still smells. Is there a product or something else I can use to get rid of the smell?
Should I just use a drop of bleach or scrub the inside with bleach?
